The nature of building dynamic Websites forces you to face the unknown and unexplainable, almost always when you least expect it or when it matters most that things go as expected.
While I am capable of working on different platforms - Apache/Tomcat and some IIS, most websites that I develop for clients are hosted at TextDrive. The tools, support and forums are very nice. Textdrive enables designers and developers greater control over the web server to customize and install software required to build most websites including PHP, MySQL, Ruby, AJAX, blogs, CMS, awstats (site reporting tools), email management and webmail, email lists, and other technologies.
Flash ActionScript 2.0 relies on/recommends object oriented programming. I strive toward better comprehension and improved OOP skills everyday and with every project. I work in-depth with web-based applications and databases, programmers, database developers, network issues, permissions, grep, the terminal, ftp, Content Management tools, e-commerce websites and Web servers.
3rd party vendors make the Web go round. There are fine 3rd Party, shareware, freeware and open-source to help create multi-functional, efficient Web-based applications.
I have worked extensively with Miva Merchant to manage the online Webstore for tompeters.com and Churchill’s Gifts. I set up Doc Popcorn using Yahoo Store tools. I set up the Moveable Type Blog at www.FatPeopleareStupid.com and installed textpattern at SafeHarbor.com. We will be releasing the community forums sometime soon.
